# Datadesign: Review Of A New Database

I am a big fan of PSION’s ARCHIVE Database and a promoter of the use of databases in general. [Bob Dyl](http://localhost/indiv/bob-dyl/) recently loaned me a copy of DATAdesign by PROGS (PROfessional and Grafical Software – programmers Joachim & Nathan Van der Auwera) of Belgium to review. To my knowledge, the QL only had ARCHIVE and FLASHBACK as general purpose database systems so the release of DATAdesign is a significant event for QL users. I have no direct experience with FLASHBACK so my vantage point is that of a heavy duty ARCHIVE user.
