Reports on EBZUG meetings in September, October (themed ‘Talking Computers’), and November 1986. September: Alvin Lam demoed Speakwell voice synthesis from ZX Computing; David Gray demoed 2068 games. October speech synthesis theme: Ric Jesch demonstrated his homebuilt speech unit using two Radio Shack chips; Woody McPheeters showed a blood chemical analysis speech device; Alvin Lam demoed the Zebra-Talker with VOTRAX SC01 phoneme chip; David Gray showed a color kaleidoscope responding to music, and a tiger image downloaded from CompuServe via QL ported to TS2068. November preview: Fred Templeton’s Monopoly for TS1000 (with super graphics) and his 100% machine code word processor and multitasking demo for TS2068.
