The book starts off with some of early and better known text-based computer games (at least for someone that got into computers in the early 80’s). The second game documented is ROCKET, the original name for a lunar lander game. It was written in late 1969 and published in January 1970. After watching the Apollo 11 lunar landing, Jim Storer, a high school student, thought that it could be turned into a computer game.
