# TRA_BAS 1.1: RS-232 Translation

RS-232 TRAnslations may seem a bit esoteric to some users, but the implementation of an RS-232 TRAnslation can resolve minor printer interface problems. Generally, your QL (and most other personal computers) telecommunicates with other computers along with communicating with other devices using the non-standard (!) ASCII code. Fortunately, the significant alphanumeric series is standardized. Nonetheless, you may find it expedient to execute one, or many, pairs of serial translations.
