# Timex Sinclair User Group Meeting June 23, 2024

[Joe Vandezande](http://localhost/indiv/joe-vandezande/) started the meeting with a short demonstration of the [William Stuart System’s speech synthesizer](http://localhost/company/william-stuart-systems/), connected to a TS 1000.

We chatted with [Gustavo Pane](http://localhost/indiv/gustavo-pane/) about why some of us enjoyed using the Sinclair ZX81/Timex/Sinclair 1000.

We also talked a bit about programmable calculators and tape recorders. [Ryan Gray](http://localhost/indiv/ryan-gray/) brought up the idea of a 16K ROM Sinclair ZX81, wondering if it’d possible to do such a thing. Turns out, it’s been done as the [SPONZY](https://www.sinclairzxworld.com/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=465).

[Mowgli Assor](http://localhost/indiv/assor-mowgli/) joined us and told us about his experiences with the Timex/Sinclair 2068, including programming a disk sector editor ([Sektor 2068](http://localhost/product/sektor-2068/)), for use with the AERCO disk system.
