On September 29, 1983, just weeks before the general availability of the Timex Sinclair 2068 Personal Color Computer, I had a personal interview with Dan Ross, VP of Operations of Timex, and the man responsible for the overall operation of the Timex Computer Corporation. Mr. Ross was on a whirlwind tour around the United States demonstrating the Timex Sinclair 2068 – and a bunch of previously unannounced (ะฐะฟd very exciting) peripherals. Mr. Ross, in his amiable manner (and with a slight Southern accent) put the 2068 through a dazzling demonstration, showing off many of the features of the new computer and its not-yet available Microdrives. His boundless enthusiasm and confidence for the entire 2068 system was evident throughout our interview, during which we discussed the past, present and future of Timex in the personal computer business.
