If I were selecting an interesting, affordable textbook suitable far beginners or intermediates, ages 10 to adult, this would be the book. It has a large number of program listing, very well explained, and the programs are interesting as well as useful. Most important is the careful explanations it’s also very well illustrated (even colored photos of TV screen displays!). One of the greatest advantages the book has over all others is an avoidance of trivial programs–no silly games here and no meaningless stuff you can’t use anyway. This 15 not to say there aren’t any games, however.
