Clive Sinclair appeared at the third Personal Computer World show, held in September 1980, demonstrating the ZX80 personal computer. Sinclair claimed that his micro was outselling all other combined in the U.K., with total sales to date of 17,000 units. Exports are expected to reach 70% in the next six months.Sinclair had launched the 8K ROM and 16K RAM pack. The new ROM featured nine-digit floating-point arithmetic and string handling and was $50. The 16K RAM was $120.
