The First Drag Racing Data Recorder Was a Timex/Sinclair 1000

Even though there’s a small technical inaccuracy in the article, it’s interesting to read that the first data recorder was a TS 1000.

Eisenbarth’s discovery of the Timex Sinclair, a small DOS-based [sic] computer that came with a thermal printer, … provided the great breakthrough. By the early 1980s, they had learned how to graph this data with a series of dots printed on thermal paper.
