Joe Vandezande shared some software for the ZX81 he’d recently archived, including “The Bird Processor”. Joe recounted his experiences with the Bird Processor word processor and a parallel printer interface from the early 1980s, and also discussed building a mechanical keyboard from salvaged parts.
David welcomed new participants Jeremiah Stoddard and Zee Mehciz to the meeting. Z shared about his collection of vintage video game systems, while Jeremiah, a new Timex user, mentioned he was waiting for the Spectrum Next Kickstarter to ship.
Johnny Red talked about the ZX Spectrum Game Of The Year (GOTY), held on Saturday, February 17th. eGames from around the world are submitted and evaluated by a jury for various categories.
Carl Miles and David discussed the internal components and design of Flight Simulator cartridge for the TS1500/TS1510. Carl shared his experience disassembling and documenting these cartridges, and mentioned plans to sell updated versions.
Adam presented his work with a Z-term, a 64-column terminal program from Zebra Systems. Adam used the program to call an Atari BBS.
