Timex Sinclair Online User Group meeting September 25, 2022

Date: September 25, 2022

We watched David as he tried to operate the ZESarUX emulator in real time and at full speed, encountering all sorts of problems trying to run a simple demonstration. Here’s the link to the article, The Mandelbrot Set by Roald Schrack:

Tim H gave us a comparison, from memory, of the run times of the same program to render the Mandelbrot Set, from the earliest code and IBM PC to recent hardware.

Tim have us an update on his project to connect a Timex/Sinclair 2040 printer to a Windows computer.

Joe V showed us his custom ZX81, mounted in a modified TI 99/4A case.

Jeff B had to put his Timex 2068 project on hold for a bit but things are looking up for an FPGA solution for his project.

Ingo Schmied updated us on his latest adventures in making a full-size keyboard for his TS 1000. Ingo was printing a case as we were meeting and showed us the view of the printer on webcam.

Claudius shared with us his project in recreating a Video Face video capture board made for the ZX Spectrum in the 1980s. You can read more about Claudius’ project here:
