This month we have three new BBS to announce that support the efforts of the Timex/Sinclair community.
The SINCLAIR AT NIGHT BBS in New York operates from 11:00 PM until 6:00 AM. Their telephone number is (718) 627-1293 and the logon parameters are: Word Length=8, Parity=NONE, Stop Bits=1. Mark Fendrick, Sinclair columnist for the Computer Shopper, is the Systems Operator. This system is dedicated to the Sinclair and Timex computers. There are conferences for the ZX81, TS-2068, and QL computers. The message base has quite a bit of usage for a young 885. The file transfer area is set up to identify programs as TS-2068, QL, or ZX81. Mark Fendrick seems to be an aggressive Sysop that will maintain a dynamic BBS. This should be a good system to check out once or twice each month.
The SUNSTATE T/S BBS in Florida operates 24 hours a day. Their telephone number is (904) 775-0093 and their logon parameters аге: Word Lengthz7, Parity=EVEN, Stop Bits=1. The Systems Operator is Mary-Lynn Johnson. Her system operates on an unexpanded TS-2068 with the ISTUG BBS software. There are no file transfers available on this system. The main reason for establishing this BBS is to support the effort to have a Timex/Sinclair WinterFest in Florida in 1388. This will be an excellent source for information about that Fest. I encourage all Timexers to check it on a regular basis.
The MICROLINK BBS in New York operates 24 hour a day. It’s telephone number is (718) 648-3502 and the logon paraneters are: Word Length=8, Parity=NONE, Stop Bits=l. The Systems Operator is Al Hartman, who did such a great job running the Zebra Systems BBS for a couple of years. This system has a Timex/Sinclair Special Interest Group (SIG) and I suspect a file transfer area. Although, I saw no downloading options, there was an uploading option. This appears to be a good system and should be well enjoyed by those Timexers in the Northeast.
The VSYS TS BBS is back up and operating! Their telephone number is (201) 527-0535 and their logon parameters are: Word Length=7, Parity=EVEN, Stop Bits=1. The system is online on Monday thru Friday from 7:00 PM until 9:00 AM, and on weekends from Friday at 8:00 РМ until 9:00 AM оп Monday (all times are eastern). The Systems Operator is Joe Newman who is perhaps one of the most determined and optimistic dealers in the Timex community. Joe is a great person to deal with and his BBS is a worthwhile call.
