Collection of utilities for use with OS-64 cartridge. The tape holds five machine-code files and a BASIC module, recorded twice:
BIGCOPY: 400 bytes at 22528.OPTBOLD: 768 bytes at 30720, a character set (96 characters of 8 bytes), apparently a bold font.FDDRS232: 100 bytes at 22928, a short routine that calls into a peripheral ROM; the name suggests RS-232 output through the AERCO FD-68 disk interface.BIGCHAR: 1,000 bytes at 62800.OLIVCOPY: 400 bytes at 22528, which holds a printer escape string; the name suggests a screen copy for an Olivetti printer.EDITOR64: a BASIC “EDITOR MODULE” for the 64-column screen, with a flashing cursor, margins, key repeat, cursor movement, new line and delete. Each key code is looked up in an arrayz()that holds the line number to jump to. REMs mark where text storage is to be added, so it is a starting point for your own editor rather than a finished one.
No instructions are on the tape; the label says “See Manual for Instructions”, and the manual is not in the download. What each machine-code file does is taken from its name and contents only. The label reads “OS-64 UTILITIES #1, Copyright © 1986 Zebra Systems, Inc., For the Timex 2068” and is date-stamped Feb 07 1986.
What’s in the download
- A TZX (turbo-speed blocks) and a WAV of the tape, and a photograph of the cassette.
