MIDDLEBURY, Conn., May 17 — Timex Computer Corporation announced the introduction of the first 16K personal computer with a suggested retail price of under $80.00.

Named the Timex Sinclair 1500, the computer, which will be shipped in July, is fully-programmable, with black-and-white graphics capability, an expandable memory, a movable-key typewriter-format keyboard and use of either standard audio cassette or unique solid state mini-cartridge software. The suggested retail price is $79.95.

“We believe the many advance features of the TS1500 will generate enthusiastic consumer and retailer response, as did our Timex Sinclair 1000,” said Daniel D. Ross, Vice President of Timex Computer Corporation. “The TS1000, TS1500, the TS2000 series color computers, with the growing line of Timex peripherals and software, constitute the best price/value family of computing products available today.”
