Claudius Fatla joined to tell us about developing a clone of the Timex Computer 2048, a computer produced by Timex Portugal.
As part of his newer version, he re-implemented the Timex SCLD in an FPGA. While there are differences between the Timex Sinclair 2068 SCLD and the SCLD in the TC2048, this suggests that the TS2068 SCLD could be re-created, as well.

Ryan showed us a calendar program he'd written a number of years ago. He demonstrated generating a new calendar using FUSE, the Free Unix Spectrum Emulator, including sending printer output to a PDF file.

After Ryan finished presenting about his program, we got into some details about information Timex provided to programmers to help convert ZX Spectrum programs to the TS 2068.
Greg Bennett showed us some nifty programs he'd written on the TS 1000 using a redefined character set. We talked a bit about how that was possible and the WRX modification needed to display high resolution graphics on the TS 1000.
Stewart chatted a bit about a project he's working on, including upgrades to the TS1000.
We talked quite a bit about getting a TS1000 to Adam, including what his system should have in upgrades.
Stewart showed some interesting details about raw, unused TS 1000 shells, especially compared to ZX81 shells.
Tim Swenson talked a bit about the Sinclair QL in response to Adam's question.
Gustavo gave some details about the US vs Portugal versions of the SCLD in the TS 2068. We discussed the SCLD buy that the Capital Area Timex Sinclair user group did back in 1986.

Jeff Burrell demonstrated his FPGA video generator solution, which runs parallel to the SCLD and displays TS 2068 video in full color and beautiful resolution.
Francois Lanciault, who attended the first ever meeting, rejoined us to see Tim's presentation and told us about history with the Sinclair computers.

Carl Miles asked about some products for the TS 2068 he purchased from David Anderson via andertone.com.
And last, we continued in our discussion about restoring a TS 1000 for Adam. One day Adam will have the full power and glory of the TS 1000. Our discussion included how to preserve ZX81/TS1000 keyboard tails, including stiffening them with Kapton tape.
Gustavo told us before the meeting that 5,000 TS 2068 computers were imported to Argentina in the 1980s. Unfortunately, we didn't get to that in the video.

Paul and Tim Swenson, who did an epic road trip together quite a while back, caught up a little.
Paul dropped a little trivia bomb: in the late 1980s/early 1990s, Supreme Court Justice David Souter was a Mechanical Affinity customer.
Paul also told us a little about the problems shipping product to South America at the time. Stewart Newfeld, another former retailer, was able to weigh on the topic, too.
Gustavo talked a bit about his TS 2068 and had some questions about various Timex products.
