It ain’t broke, why fix it? In a previous article (January and Apr 1989), I described the way to get of retrace lines when using the with a Skip Fisher RGB monitor. That earlier design had to compromise the TV/monochrome monitor output to get the best RGB. After a little messing around, I now believe we can have all 3 modes working at optimum (and simultaneously, if we like). How? ! found that adding a 10K ohm resistor did the trick! Where? From the base of O5 to the input of the 74HC00 (where the 47K ohm goes). Anything else? Oh, yes, disconnect the 47K ohm from the Q5 and ground it.
