About a month ago I received a golden flyer from Pheonix Enterprises advertising a product that they claimed would allow me to run Spectrum programs. Needless to say, they had my attention, I had already heard of Doug Dewey’s emulator board, but decided that was more than I wanted to invest at the time.
So I got on the phone and called them and talked to a Mr. Jim Payne. Yes, they did sell the kit, but no it didn’t plug into the cartridge port. You had to open the computer. I wasn’t too thrilled with this, but he explained that the kit was actually a simple micro chip that plugs into one of the sockets already occupied by the current ROMs.
