Many users have reported problems when attempting to use Albin Hessler’s Serial Mouse software. Frank Davis of Mechanical Affinity reports that most of the problems he has seen can be solved by following three basic steps: first, its necessary to make a small QL cable to hook to a serial mouse; the second, requires people with 9 pin serial connectors to use the GERMAN wiring setup (not the English); and the third, requirement is to use the GERMAN version of the software drivers (not the English). The English machines use the BT connector for their serial ports, while German and North American machines use the 9 pin D connectors.
