Review: Tomahawk

This newly adapted game for the TS2068 from D. K. Marshall (DIGITAL INTEGRATION) is a heck of a lot better than the PSION Flight Simulator! I am not a real fan of Flight Sims, as you can tell, I am still in the dark ages with the old PSION sim! Well, TOMAHAWK won my heart!

The game features 4 levels of play, TRAINEE to ACE, and 4 different missions to be completed. Your helicopter (you have 3 of them!) is equipped with a 30mm chain gun (1200 rounds), 16 Hellfire laser-seeking anti-armour missiles and 76 2.75 inch rockets.

It’s fairly easy to win the game if you use the guided missiles since you can destroy the enemy without even seeing them, they can be up to 3 miles away and you can shoot them!

The program has good sound effects, however if it were originally made for the TS2068 they would be a lot better!

The graphics are contour line graphics. You can see hills (I can’t say much about the hills in the PSION sim, there aren’t any!), trees, buildings, field guns, tanks, helicopters, transmission pylons, landing pads and even ground features when at an altitude of less than 500ft!

The only BUG in the program is when an helicopter, tank or field gun is very close to you and you destroy it, there’s only a small explosion!?!

There’s an instruction booklet that really helps you learn how to fly the APACHE ADVANCED ATTACK chopper. It isn’t very long to read but is quite explicit.

This one is a sure HIT! If you like Flight Sims, get your hands on this one!
