The first review is from Russ, W9CQD. It is on the Byte Back Co. ‘s Telephone Modem ($119.95 kit). After waiting 5 weeks due to an ‘outage’ of circuit boards, I received my modem kit. The boards are a very good quality with silk screened parts locations. There are two boards plus the small extender’ board. One is for the modem and the other is an RS232 interface. This is not a kit for beginners as it it requires some soldering dexterity. The solder mask does help a lot in preventing solder ‘bridges’, so if you can handle a 25 watt iron and have a good magnifying glass by all means get the kit. (An assembled version is $149.95) . A S for construction, I was pretty lucky and had only one open connection. Once corrected, the modem worked right away.
