Type: Program
Platform(s): TS 2068

Floating-point BASIC compiler that can obtain the speed of an integer compiler when doing operations that don’t require the complexities of floating-point arithmetic. Can compile almost all of BASIC into fast machine code; handles user-defined functions, two-dimensional numeric, and string arrays.

The download now also has the six example programs from the TIMACHINE manual, from NovelSoft’s Larken disk, on one tape with a menu: the sum of two numbers, a name triangle, a spiral, the spiral with screen-copy routines, cats (adapted from Easy Programming for the ZX Spectrum by Ian Stewart and Robin Jones, Shiva 1982) and a sieve of primes. Several carry the compiler directives (REM !INT, REM ! OPEN #) that the manual explains. The Spiral program on this site is the third example.
