The first Companion tape from Byte Power: a cassette of large black-and-white pictures for The Print Factory. Each picture is cut into a set of screen-sized pieces named with a letter (CHEETAH A to F, FALCON A to H, and so on) that fit together into one big image. Side A has a cheetah, a falcon, a Ferrari, an Indian, a tiger, a cat and a demon; Side B has cars, a dragon, an eye, bugs, a space shuttle, tigers and a turkey.
Every piece is a 6,144-byte screen bitmap with no colour attributes, saved as CODE at 50000; this is the bitmap format that The Print Factory’s QUICK SCREEN saves (see #72643 The Print Factory). The download has both sides as TAP, TZX and WAV, and scans of the cassette labels.
Contents
- Side A: CHEETAH A–F, FALCON A–H, FERRARI A–C, INDIAN A–H, TIGER A–D, CAT A–C and DEMON A–E (37 pieces)
- Side B: CARS A–L, DRAGON A–E, EYE A–D, BUGS A–D, SHUTTLE A–C, TIGERS A–H and TURKEY A–B (38 pieces)
Potential Issues
- In the Side B TAP the blocks that should be CARS B, DRAGON E, SHUTTLE C, TIGERS F and TIGERS G have damaged headers or the wrong length, so they will not load by name.
- DEMON E, the last block on Side A, is two bytes short and has a bad flag byte.
