Synchro-Sette December 1982

Cassette to accompany the December 1982 issue of Synchro-Sette, the monthly tape magazine for the TS1000 and ZX81 from The S & S Company. It holds a menu loader, seven programs and the month’s Christmas-themed Bulletin Board. The loader’s title reads “DECEMBER 1982 LOADER PROGRAM”, although the archive file is named December 1983.

The download has each program as a .tzx tape image with a .b81 text listing, in tape order, plus pictures.

Programs on the Tape

• LOADER: menu loader: press 1–8 to load a program by name, or 9 for the next program on the tape. A short machine-code routine in its first REM is called with RAND USR 16514.
• SEASONS GREETINGS: animated card with scrolling rows of block graphics between flashing “MERRY CHRISTMAS” and “HAPPY NEW YEAR” messages. (also #57581 Seasons Greetings)
• MILEAGE: works out miles per gallon, fuel cost per mile and range on a full tank from odometer readings and the cost of a fill-up. (also #57582 Mileage)
• CHAINSAW: shooting-gallery game: shoot at two rows of numbered targets scrolling in opposite directions, ten shots per game. (also #57583 Chainsaw)
• FRENZY: timing game: press Z as a moving marker passes the target. (also #57584 Frenzy)
• INVENTORY: stock inventory for up to 100 items, with part numbers, unit costs and stock levels, and saving to tape. (also #57585 Inventory)
• SPACE DOCKING: steer a ship under a moving fuel satellite and dock with it (A up, Z left, M right). (also #57586 Space Docking)
• QUOTE: job quote estimator that totals materials, shop labour and on-site labour, then adds overhead and profit. (also #57587 Quote)
• BULLETIN: the Synchro-Sette Bulletin Board for December 1982, with a Christmas title screen and scrolling messages.
